  • Congratulations to all of our winners for 2007 and thank you to our record number of entrants - you made the judges' decisions extremely difficult, as you can see from the split decision on the Best Short film in our ever-popular <10 minute category! There are some exciting announcements about the 2008 and 2009 Home Brewed International Film Festivals coming in December this year, so keep an eye out.
  • The winner of our prestigious Granny's Choice Award is still coming - we do use real Grannies and unfortunately this year there have been some health-related delays that have meant our Grannies can't get back to us with their results as soon as we would have liked. Rest assured we will be announcing the results as soon as we can!!
  • To join our mailing list so that you are among the first to receive the 2008 festival annoucements and the much-awaited Grannies' decision, email us with the word "subscribe" in the subject. Check out the Newsletters page to see what form our emails to you will normally take.

If you are a past Home Brewed finalist and have some news for us about the success of your film, upcoming screenings or other developments, let us know so you can share it with the Home Brewed family here!

The Garth Method

Winner of 2 Short Poppy Awards for its
unique approach to production / exhibition,
the Garth Method is one of the Home
Brewed Director's favourite past features.
This cheeky comedy follows the tale of
Garth, who kidnaps members of the public
and forces them to star in his film,
desperate to make himself a household
name. Check out The Garth Method site
for the latest charity screenings, including
the all-new GARTH GOES HITCH-HIKING!
a doco about when Garth hitch-hiked from
Melbourne to Cairns (via our sister festival
SNOWYfest).

Peter Templeman

Peter, a Home Brewed judge in 2006, has
screened both 'Splintered' and 'The Saviour'
at Home Brewed in previous years, and
has subsequently gone on to win
successive Slamdance festivals in the
narrative short category (the first filmmaker
to do so).

The Saviour was nominated in the 2007
Oscars together with another Home
Brewed Alumni, Binta Y La Gran Idea.
While the films missed out on the gong,
this is a huge honour for all concerned
congratulations!

Ward 13 - Peter Cornwell

From 2005 shortlisting for Academy Award
nomination to storyboarding for Toy Story
3, Peter has been one of our most
successful Home Brewed alumni ever. He
is currently preparing to Direct "Sanctum"
(formerly "Dionaea House") in Vancouver
for Universal Pictures.
